How LinkedIn Zip Works

Zip is LinkedIn's daily one-path logic puzzle. Each day you get one new board, and you solve it by drawing a single continuous line that visits the numbered cells in order and fills every square on the grid without crossing itself or a wall. This page covers the mechanics and how to get to the game: the rules, the exact reset time, where to find Zip on desktop and mobile, guest mode, and why past puzzles disappear. For tips on solving faster, see the strategy guide.

The rules: one path, every cell

A Zip board is a small square grid with a handful of numbered cells scattered across it. You start on the cell marked 1 and drag a single unbroken line through 2, then 3, and on in sequence to the last number. Two rules make it a puzzle: the line has to pass through every empty cell exactly once, and it can never cross itself or pass through a wall between two cells. When the path links the final number with no gaps and no crossings, the board is solved and LinkedIn shows your time. There is no score beyond that time, so speed is the whole game.

What time does LinkedIn Zip reset?

LinkedIn Zip resets once a day at midnight Pacific Time. In the other common zones that is 3 AM Eastern (ET) and 8 AM in the UK, and roughly 9 AM in central Europe. At that moment a fresh puzzle goes live and the previous day's board expires at the same time, so it can no longer be played in the app. Everyone worldwide gets the identical Zip for the day, which is what makes the leaderboard and the “your move” challenges comparable. If you want the current puzzle solved, today's LinkedIn Zip answer is posted within minutes of each reset.

How to play and where to find Zip

On desktop, open the LinkedIn Games hub and pick Zip, or go straight to linkedin.com/games/zip. In the mobile app the game is a little more hidden: use the search bar to look up “games” or “Zip”, or open your profile side panel and tap “Puzzle Games”. To play, press and hold on cell 1 and drag through the numbers in order. You can undo the last move, clear the whole grid to start over, or use a hint, which erases back to the first mistake and reveals the next correct step.

Mobile, desktop and guest mode

Zip runs in the LinkedIn iOS and Android apps, on the desktop site, and in any mobile browser at the game URL. You do not strictly need to log in: LinkedIn offers a guest mode, so you can play the daily puzzle without an account. The trade-off is that a guest solve is kept for only about 30 minutes and then deleted, and your activity is not saved, which means streaks and the leaderboard require a signed-in account. Sign in with your normal LinkedIn profile if you want your run to count toward a streak or show up against your connections.

One puzzle a day, harder as the week goes on

There is exactly one new Zip per day, the same for everyone, and difficulty follows a weekly ramp. Monday is the easiest board of the week, usually a smaller grid with few walls, and the puzzles get steadily tougher through Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Friday is the hardest, with larger grids and more walls to route around, before the cycle eases off again the following week. If a mid-week board has you stuck, the daily walkthroughs on this site show the exact path for every puzzle.

Can't see Zip? Update the app

If Zip does not appear where you expect, the usual cause is an older LinkedIn app, so update it from the App Store or Google Play and reopen. Games rolled out gradually, and a stale version may not show the hub. On mobile, remember there is no permanent shortcut in the main menu: search for the game by name or reach it through the profile side panel. Because past boards expire at the daily reset, you cannot scroll back to a puzzle you missed inside LinkedIn. To replay older boards, browse the full archive of solved Zip puzzles, which keeps every day with its complete path.

Frequently asked

What time does LinkedIn Zip reset?

LinkedIn Zip resets once a day at midnight Pacific Time, which is 3 AM Eastern and 8 AM in the UK. A brand new puzzle appears at that moment and the previous day's board expires, so every player worldwide gets the same Zip each day.

Where do I find Zip on LinkedIn?

On desktop, open the LinkedIn Games hub at linkedin.com/games/zip or from your feed. In the mobile app, search for “games” or “Zip”, or open your profile side panel and tap “Puzzle Games”. You can also go straight to the direct URL.

Can I play LinkedIn Zip without an account?

Yes. LinkedIn has a guest mode, so you can play Zip in a browser without an account. Your solve is only held for about 30 minutes and is then deleted, and streaks and the leaderboard need a signed-in account.

Can I still play yesterday's Zip puzzle?

No. LinkedIn expires each puzzle at the daily reset, so yesterday's board is no longer playable in the app. To replay past boards, use an archive: this site keeps every solved Zip with its full path.
